The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona contains several major ecosystems. Its great biological diversity can be attributed to the presence of five of the seven life zones and three of the four desert types in North America.	Uranium drilling around the south rim of the canyon is threatening the water quality.	All types of uranium mining have the potential for radioactive pollution, threatening water in the Colorado River, which provides drinking water to not only the native plants and wildlife, but millions of people in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.	Concerned individuals should contact the Board of Supervisors of Coconino County, the county that encompasses much of the land in and around Grand Canyon National Park.	If the public does not help put a stop to uranium mining near the Grand Canyon, destruction of its life and natural resources is inevitable.	Text:
